Monique McIntosh

Chief Executive Officer - ac3 & SNIA ANZ Chair

Generally known as ac3, the Australian Centre for Advanced Computing and Communications appointed Monique McIntosh as Chief Executive Officer in 2012, reporting to the Board. She had joined the company in a business development role in 2005.

ac3 is majority-owned by the State Government of New South Wales, with eight NSW universities jointly holding the remainder. The company has its headquarters in Sydney’s heritage-listed Australian Technology Park enclave and provides its clients with secure, highly available and services-backed computing infrastructure platforms. In the wide-ranging brief that goes with the Chief Operating Officer role at ac3, Monique McIntosh is responsible for – business strategy; budget development and management; regulatory compliance; operational risk management; business alliances; sales and marketing; and human resources.

She successfully restructured ac3’s business to maintain momentum throughout the global financial crisis and in her time in the role to mid-2012, has recorded a significant increase in sales revenues. In addition, she has implemented a number of new business improvement programs covering – channel network development; customer service delivery; cost reduction; and employee development. Very importantly – and in keeping with ac3’s vision and longer-term growth objectives – she continues to introduce new offerings designed to increase the services share of overall revenues and profit contribution.    

Monique McIntosh gained her Master of Business and Technology MBA at the University of New South Wales. 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Bryan Stibbard

Area Vice President, Australia/New Zealand, CommVault

Bryan Stibbard is the Area Vice President – A/NZ of CommVault Systems, with full responsibility for all sales operations across Australia and New Zealand. Bryan leads a team ranging from pre-and post sales consultants, through to channel, state, industry and inside sales sector specialists. Bryan has been leading the A/NZ sales operations for CommVault for over 2 years, during which time he has overseen consistent and significant growth year on year. Under his leadership CommVault has developed a dynamic multi-tiered channel and partner distribution ecosystem model, incorporating both service providers and system integrators.  He has also overseen substantial expansion of the A/NZ sales team including the creation of dedicated Enterprise-focused and inside sales teams.   

Bryan has a 15 year heritage in selling enterprise security and storage solutions, having run successful state, national and APJ wide teams at Symantec, Computer Associates and Premiere Global Services before joining CommVault. Bryan was educated at La Trobe University and is currently based in Melbourne, with his wife and three daughters.

 

 

David Holmes

Solutions Marketing Manager, Enterprise Storage - Dell

David Holmes is the Solutions Marketing Manager for Enterprise Storage, Dell Australia and New Zealand. In this role he is responsible for driving the marketing strategy of Dell's Storage and Networking portfolios in the Commercial and Public sectors. Prior to joining Dell ANZ in 2010, David worked for 5 years in the Dell UK office as Solutions Marketing Manager for Public Sector and prior to that as Business Manager for Dell/EMC in EMEA. During this time he was involved in the integration of EqualLogic iSCSI SANs into the Dell Storage portfolio in UK. Before Dell, David spent several years in sales and product marketing roles at Bellmicro UK, a value-added provider of high-technology products, solutions, and professional services to the commercial and industrial markets.

Peter Prowse

General Manager, Data Centre Solutions - Dimension Data & SNIA ANZ Treasurer

Peter Prowse joined Dimension Data Australia in January 2010, as General Manager, Data Centre Solutions, In this role, he is responsible for the financial and strategic direction of Dimension Data's DCS business in Australia, which includes driving the development of new solution and service offerings, fostering robust client and vendor relationships, and liaising with Dimension Data's global business to develop global standards for the DCS practice in Australia.

Prior to Dimension Data, Peter held a number of senior management and sales roles at Hewlett Packard (HP) South Pacific over a 10 year period.  Most recently, he spent two years leading HP's systems integration business as Director of HP's Network Solutions Group. In this role he was responsible for developing and implementing solutions around Unified Communications; Security; and Data Centre Networking. Prior to his time at HP, Peter held management roles at IT services company Interim technology, IBM, and IT training firm Pollak Partners.

Peter is currently studying for an Executive MBA from the Australian Graduate School of Management.

Clive Gold

Marketing CTO - EMC & SNIA Secretary

Clive Gold joined EMC Corporation in 1999 as the Regional Marketing Director and became the Director Product Marketing in 2004. Clive has now taken on the role of Chief Technology Officer for this region, in which Clive is responsible for EMC's specialist marketing activities and he plays a strategic role in advising on the overall direction of EMC.
Clive has over 25 years experience in the IT industry having commenced his career with Hewlett-Packard, Clive subsequently held a variety of senior positions in sales, marketing and services with companies including ComTech and Pyramid Technology. Clive holds a Masters degree in Business Administration as well as a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering. 
 

Blair Wood
Product Marketing Manager - HP Australia

Blair Wood is the Product Marketing Manager for HP Storage Australia.  He is responsible for product management and marketing of the HP Storage portfolio and for enabling the sales and services teams to deliver integrated storage, virtualization and cloud solutions to customers from SMB through to large Enterprise. Blair works within the HP Enterprise Group to develop end-to-end customer solutions and help HP achieve financial and market objectives for its storage business. Blair has more than seven years experience in IT and Telco product management, marketing and sales, having joined Hewlett Packard in 2007. Blair has held roles in sales, business management and marketing across a broad range of products and solutions. Blair holds a Bachelor’s degree in Commerce and Science, both from the University of Auckland New Zealand. 

 

Adrian DeLuca
Director of Pre-sales and Solutions - Hitachi Data Systems ANZ & SNIA Vice-Chair

Adrian De Luca brings over 15 years of experience in Information Technology to Hitachi Data Systems. In his role as Director Pre-Sales & Solutions, Adrian is responsible for directing the technical pre-sales capability in Australia and New Zealand, managing the team of Systems Engineers, Solution Architects and Business Development Managers. He is also Chief Technology Evangelist for Hitachi's solutions, working closely with Hitachi's development facilities in Santa Clara, California and customers around the region to bring innovative solutions to the market. Adrian works actively with industry bodies such as the Storage Networking Industry Association (SNIA), as well as the analysts and press. He is also a popular keynote speaker presenting at major industry events around Asia Pacific, written a number of business white papers and co-authored "Storage Virtualization for Dummies".

Formerly, Adrian De Luca has held senior positions in the Asia Pacific Product Management team, Australia/New Zealand Management team and System Engineering group at Hitachi Data Systems. He has a background in content management consulting at Broadvision Inc and maintained numerous Software Engineering positions at various enterprise software vendors. 

 

 

 

Brian Cartwright
Storage Technical Team Leader & Consulting I/T Specialist - IBM Australia

Brian is a Consulting I/T Specialist and is also the Storage technical team leader for IBM Australia.  Based in Brisbane, Australia, Brian has 25 years technical pre-sales experience in the storage market covering both open systems and mainframe storage systems. His areas of expertise include Storage Area Networks, Disk and Tape subsystems, Storage Virtualisation & IBM storage software and he has co-authored 9 books on these topics.
Brian holds a degree in Computing Studies from Canberra University and is both an IBM Certified I/T Specialist and an IBM Certified Storage Specialist. Prior to joining IBM's Storage Systems Group in 1995, Brian worked for the Department of Veterans' Affairs and the Department of Social Security in Canberra.

Simon Sharwood has spent the last fifteen years writing for and about the information technology industries as a journalist, marketer and public relations consultant. He is now editor of Australia and New Zealand’s only dedicated storage news website, searchstorage.com.au, in addition to various other freelance writing, editing and podcasting engagements.
  

 

 

Mark Harrison  

             
Mark Harrison joined NAB in December 2008, as the Senior Manager, from an Infrastructure Perspective, of NextGen Platform Services, NAB's new strategic core banking platform. Mark has also led the Storage and Mainframe teams at NAB. Prior to joining NAB, Mark held a variety Senior Infrastructure roles within both IBM and EDS, including the Regional Storage Director for the AP region for EDS. Mark has also worked extensively, on assignment, in Tokyo and Hong Kong. People Management and leveraging value from IT assets are key passions.

John Martin
Consulting Systems Engineer - NetApp Australia
 

John Martin is a Consulting Systems Engineer responsible for data protection and retention services across NetApp Australia and New Zealand. John has 20 years of experience in the IT industry and has spent the last decade specialising in Data Protection and Disaster Recovery. Based in Sydney, John works closely with NetApp's systems engineer partners and partner consultants from Symantec and Commvault. John joined NetApp in 2006 as a Systems Engineer and was promoted to Consulting Systems Engineer in January 2008. Before joining NetApp, John was a Principal of GRID IT where he built relationships with major storage vendors EMC, Symantec and StorageTek while at the same time helping to start two storage related businesses. At GRID IT, he was involved in senior pre-sales, consulting and training for Legato, Veritas, and StorageTek.
 

Sam Voukenas - Storage Product Director, Oracle Australia & New Zealand

Sam is responsible for the storage business for Oracle across ANZ. Sam has 13 years of experience in the IT industry, with a focus on product management and marketing. Most recently Sam was responsible for Storage and Networking brand management at Dell, and prior to that was the Storage Product Marketing Manager at Hewlett Packard.

Kate Walker
Chief Executive Officer - RIMPA                                                                                     

Kate is currently the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Records and Information Management Professionals Australasia (RIMPA). She also owns and operates her own consulting business - Relevancy Pty Ltd - which pursues information management solutions, in particular; workflow, document and records management solutions as well as providing training and assessment in line with the AQTF Competency Framework. She is a widely recognised advisor on the subjects of Knowledge Management, Information Management, Records and Document Management, E-Business, Workflow & Image Processing, Process Mapping & Analysis, and information enabling technology. She has conducted Audits, Corporate Plans, Strategic Studies and Implementation & Impact Studies on the introduction of information technologies.
